The twin villages of Cawsand and Kingsand sit across the Tamar from Plymouth, fringing the southern end of a three mile bay. There are east facing sand and shingle beaches sheltered by Rame Head Peninsula and offering views over Plymouth Sound.

  • Tregonhawke Beach (Whitsand Bay) (3.2 miles)

Tregonhawke is part of a three mile stretch of sand known as Whitsand Bay, considered by many to be East Cornwall's finest beach. Popular with surfers, despite dangerous rip currents, access to the beach at Tregonhawke involves steep steps. Tregonhawke is the headquarters of the Whitsand Bay Surf Lifesaving Club.
