East Pier Beach (Worthing)
This beach, located on the eastern side of Worthing Pier, is part of a five-mile stretch of shingle, interspersed with groynes, which slopes gently into the sea. At low tide an expanse of sand is exposed.
Worthing’s beach is used for fishing, bathing, sailing and windsurfing. Nearby Worthing Pier, which dominates the seascape, was built in 1862 and features a theatre, an amusement arcade and recently renovated tea rooms.
Worthing Lido Entertainment Centre is nearby, on the western side of the pier. Splashpoint Leisure Centre, behind the beach offers somewhere to swim during inclement weather.
Worthing town centre is just a short walk away and has some large shops and a choice of places to eat and drink.
