Uphill Beach (Weston-super-Mare) (Slipway)
Situated at the southern end of Weston-super-Mare’s lengthy stretch of beach, Uphill is a world apart from the hustle and bustle you would expect from the seaside resort. However, you won’t find quite the same range of facilities at Uphill as on Weston’s main strip.
Uphill sands is quite similar to Brean beach which sits on the far side of the imposing headland of Brean Downs. Sandy, expansive and with parking on the beach itself there are plenty of similarities between these two neighbouring beaches.
What Uphill has that Brean doesn’t is the River Axe which flows out to sea here. Whilst it might be tempting to nip across the river towards Brean Downs at low tide it is not advised as you are likely to need rescuing from a muddy fate.
Behind the beach and following the course of the Axe is Uphill Local Nature Reserve. As well as an abundance of wildlife there is also a tower atop the hill which gives great views of the beach and coast below.

Aug 11th 2023Visited this lovely beach on Wednesday 9th August. Beautiful stretch of sand with parking on the beach. Monster pizza co. food van on the beach run by a very welcoming, friendly Bulgarian couple who deserve your support to make a living. Spent a few hours here and will definitely return.
