Aberafan Beach (Aberavon)
Aberavon beach, near Port Talbot, is one of Wales’ longest beaches, offering nearly three miles of sandy beach. The beach is backed by two miles of flat promenade making it popular with walkers, joggers and cyclists alike. The promenade forms a section of the Celtic Trail, part of the National Cycle network.
Aberavon Beach is a popular surf spot and is well known for its ability to hold a big swell. Whatever month of the year you visit there’s a chance of catching some good waves here.
During the summer the beach hosts a number of events including a popular beach festival.

Dogs friendly beach?
Restrictions apply to Aberavon Beach and Promenade from 1st May - 30th September. This prohibits dogs from entering a designated part of the beach (breakwater to car park) and requires dogs to be on a lead at all times on the promenade.
