Troon South Beach
Troon is a bustling seaside town in Ayrshire. It has two good, sandy beaches, a harbour and lots of good quality cafes, restaurants and shops, and the vicinity boasts no less than seven golf courses.
South Beach is the area of wide, flat, golden sand stretching south of the harbour. It is backed by a wide esplanade, which is a great place to stroll or cycle along, taking in the views over the beautiful Isle of Arran, South Bay and Ailsa Craig in the distance.
The beach is popular with day trippers, kite flyers, kite surfers and windsurfers. There are also some good walks nearby - the Ayrshire Coastal Path runs alongside the beach.
Parking, with toilets can be found near the Council offices on South Beach Road. The larger South Beach Esplanade Car Park is a bit further south, at the end of the B749. Both car parks lead directly onto the esplanade.
