Heads of Ayr Beach
Heads of Ayr is a remote sandy beach backed by a low-lying fields in an area dominated by high cliffs. With excellent views out over the Firth of Clyde across to the Isle of Arran, and to the town of Ayr a few miles to the north, it is a good place to go for a walk and relax in peace and quiet.
The beach can be reached by walking along the coast from Craig Tara, or along a path from Heads of Ayr Caravan Park. Near to the beach is Heads of Ayr Farm Park which includes an indoor children’s play area, perfect for rainy days, and many animals, some of which visitors can feed.
The closest large town from the beach is Ayr, about 3 miles to the north east, where visitors can find many facilities such as shops, restaurants, places to stay, and a train station.
