South Beach (Hunstanton)

The south beach is found at the southern end of the Norfolk seaside resort of Hunstanton. It forms part of a long stretch of predominantly sandy coastline which stretches all the way up the coast from Snettisham and faces west across the sheltered waters of The Wash. The wide, sandy beach, which can get fairly busy in high season, is backed by a promenade, along which it is possible to walk south to Heacham. Heading south, the shore at high tide becomes a mix of shingle and sand.
Hunstanton is known for its striking red and white striped cliffs, calm waters and spectacular sunsets. The town has a good range of attractions including a Sea Life Centre, a leisure centre, and an indoor market. Wildlife-spotting boat trips can be arranged to maximise the chances of seeing some of the marine life to be found in the bay.
