Great Yarmouth’s North Beach is a delightful wide, sandy beach, backed with low, grassy sand dunes. Just off the coast here, in the North Sea, is the Scroby Sands Wind Farm North Beach is a popular destination for day trippers and walkers.

A promenade runs alongside much of the beach and there is an attractive boardwalk over the sands making access to the beach easier for those with pushchairs or persons with limited mobility.

In recent years the Venetian waterway and the Boating Lake, have been restored to the glory of their heyday in the 1920s adding to the charm of this already delightful beach.

In late spring, a section of the beach becomes home to a colony of Little Terns which migrate from Africa to nest.  Visitors wishing to look at the bird colony should seek advice from the nearby RSPB cabin on how to view the birds without disturbing their young.

Facilities here are quite good with a paying car park and public toilets along North Drive. The water quality is excellent and the sand is generally kept clean, although there is no lifeguard service, so bathers should take care.
