South Denes Beach (Great Yarmouth)

South Denes beach is the most southerly of Great Yarmouth’s beaches and generally escapes the summer crowds of the main town beach.

As far as the beach itself goes at South Denes it is pleasant enough. There is plenty of soft sand interspersed with wooden groynes. Most of the beach here is backed by low sand dunes as it stretches towards the port.

The backdrop to the beach is a little industrial to say the least. Whilst this may not appeal to all it does add some interest watching the ships come and go.
