Porth Towyn Beach
Porth Towyn Beach is located near the small village of Tudweiliog, on the northern coast of the beautiful Lleyn (Llŷn) Peninsula. This is one of the more remote beaches in the area, but also one of the loveliest. There isn’t a great deal around here except the small caravan site and farm just behind the beach.
The beach itself is a small bay flanked and backed by gently sloping grassy cliffs. These provide enough shelter from the wind, but the beach is also exposed enough to pick up some surf.
The sand at Porth Towyn ‘squeaks’ when you tread on it, as it does at its more famous neighbour, Whistling Sands.
There are various parking spots nearby, including at the farm, but it’s often easier just to park in Tudweiliog village and make the 10 minute walk down to the beach.

Great Find

Aug 16th 2024Fabulous little beach, sheltered enough for the kids to use their boogie boards and not go too far out. Great cafe at the top of the cliff.
Nice beach, too many dogs.

Aug 31st 2022This beach is a very nice beach with easy access and a cafe. It would have been a five star, unfortunately, even though there is a sign saying no dogs allowed, there were dozens of them, many without leads.
