Gore Cove is a tiny patch of sand and shingle hidden on shores of the Fleet lagoon which lies behind Chesil Beach.
The Fleet lagoon is a 10 mile (15km) long stretch of brackish water (slat and fresh) that lies behind the ruler straight Chesil Bank. Depite being fairly shallow and warm, the lagoon might not be the most inviting place for a swim. It is however overflowing with wildlife and is an SSSI, SPA and SAC to mention a few acronyms!
