Charlton Undercliff Beach
Set against a backdrop of coastal woodland this private beach has a very remote feel and is often deserted. The beach is owned by the Rousdon Estate which consists of 350 coastal acres of farm, parkland, private land and nature reserve between Seaton and Lyme Regis
While the beach appears pebbly in the photos it can often be much more sandy, and there is always sand below the tide line. Described as having its own microclimate, Charlton Undercliff beach stretches for nearly a mile in a gentle arc.
The beach can be accessed via the coast path from either Lyme Regis or Axmouth. There is also access through the Rousdon Estate, although no parking.
