Fontygary Bay (Ffontygari)
The beach at Fontygary Bay is wide and mostly made up of pebbles, backed by cliffs, giving a striking backdrop to this beach, which is popular for swimming in the summer months. At this time of year there is a lifeguard service.
Behind the cliffs are mostly fields, as well as a caravan park and a number of other facilities such as a cafe and toilets. Parking can be found a short walk from the beach along Fontygary Road.
The nearest village from the beach is Rhoose, just a few hundred meters away. It has further facilities such as shops, places to stay, and a train station with regular services to Cardiff within walking distance of the beach.

Fontygary Bay Reviews
A gem of a beach, sand at low tide and rocks at high. Amenities of the local fontygary leisure park, parking, bar, cafe, restaurant, kids play area, toilets all a minutes walk away. Along with local fish n chip shop. Local lifeguards patrol through summer on weekends, but always seems to be someone around. As well as being on Welsh coastal path.
