Shell Bay (Earlsferry)
Shell Bay is a mostly sandy beach with some pebbles closer to the water’s edge. It lies in a secluded area of the Fife coastline, looking south onto the Firth of Forth.
Behind the beach there is a caravan park with children’s play area, shop, cafĂ© and toilets. The beach is popular for swimming as well as walking, with the 117-mile Fife Coastal Path passing the beach.
Dogs must be kept on a lead in the area at all times.
Parking can be found at the holiday park, but during the winter months the gates close at 4pm. An alternative car park can be found just outside the gates of the park, about 500 meters from the beach.
The closest town is Earlsferry, about a mile east of the beach. The path from the beach is quite difficult, including a chain walk at Kincraig. The town has plenty of shops and places to eat. There are also two golf courses.
