Rhosneigr (Traeth Crigyll) Beach
Traeth Crigyll (Town beach) is Rhosneigr’s main beach. Located just to the west of the town it is a fine expanse of golden sand.
At Rhosneigr beach you have the best of both worlds; there is easy access from the village, with several roads leading right down onto the beach. As you head west away from the village the backdrop turns into one of low dunes and fields beyond.
Rhosneigr is a great family beach with plenty of exploring to be done. There is a stream where the Afon Crigyll flows into the sea - just about the right size for building a dam. There are also some rocky areas near the town which reveal rockpools at low tide.
Traeth Crigyll is a popular spot among watersports enthusiasts with kite-surfing, windsurfing, canoeing and surfing all possible on the right conditions. The slipway also allows easy beach access making it a good spot for launching small boats.
Whilst swimming here is generally safe there isn’t a lifeguard service so care should be taken when bathing.
