Silver Bay (Traeth Llydan)
Silver Bay (Traeth Llydan) is a sand beach closest to Holyhead. Forming a good-sized horseshoe of beach, it is located on Anglesey’s southwest coast. Backed by grassy dunes and pine woodland, it slopes only gently into the waters of the bay, as demonstrated by the positioning of the narrow (and inoffensive) waterline of seaweed some distance from the water.
Rock formations at either end of Silver Bay provide ample opportunity for rock pooling at low tide, while its generally uncrowded nature helps to create an atmosphere of seclusion. Although tranquil too, this can be broken by the take offs and landings at neighbouring RAF Valley aerodrome. Most visitors tend to be staying at the nearby holiday village, since other access is only by foot and there are no car parks in the immediate vicinity.
Facilities are limited to a handful of picnic benches and bins beside a small basic hut. There is no lifeguard presence. Dogs are permitted throughout the year.

Silver Bay Reviews
Some of the woodland has gone

Oct 09th 2020I loved this place on previous visits - used to walk through a small pine wood to get to the beach - beautifully and magica! Returned today to find that half the wood has been chopped down so now only have wood on the side of you instead of walking through. - not sure why they have done this but I hope it will be replanted!!!

Aug 26th 2022Nice beach but the only way to it is either to stay at the holiday village or have a long walk in around the headland.
Security at the holiday village stop anyone from walking through to access the beach!
Whilst id give the beach a 4star rating due to limited facilities the fact that you cant get to it easily drops it to 1 star
Never been there and found it crowded. In fact, most of the time, there has been fewer than ten people on it. Gorgeous at dawn and sunset. perhaps I need to get there more often.
