Hornsea Beach

recent comment by dog walker not fair to anglers. i myself own a dog and on many occasions i take him fishing with me to Hornsea beach he is well behaved and socialises with other anglers / public and dogs alike freely off his lead, unlike untrained out of control dogs that constantly cause havoc by running amock anglers at will snatching bait/baited hooks /or packing up and flask being weed on; these are problems caused by the owner not the dog a well trained dog is more than welcome to visit an angler for a pat or even a treat if owner agrees.but i can vouch for a thousand anglers 100% everyone has been ABUSED by untrained dogs LIKE YOURS, that causes the anger.there is miles of empty beach at Hornsea to train your dog properly.

fantastic sand and shingle beach, plenty of room for families with young children to do the whole bucket and spade thing. Shops on Promenade for ice creams, fish and chips etc and a short walk into town. Separate area for Dogs/No dogs, lovely cafe and paddling pool on prom with seats and gardens to watch the world go by and while away the afternoon. Once visited you will return again and again.

nothing to do there and way to busy

We often pop here to hunt for fossils, grap a fish n chip lunch and chill. The food is way better priced than at our own local seaside resort,, Skeg Vegas, and the beach better, but then we gravitate to the remote areas for fossils so not had issue with people, either anglers or sunbathers. Dogs are another subject altogether, poop blind dog owners on the increase, both on the beach and the promenade, and lots who disregard the no dogs beach area, which is a shame.

The beaches in Hornsea are absolutely fine. Negative views are generally about people, not the beach. You get inconsiderate people everywhere unfortunately.

Dont bother taking your dog or family. The beaches are so over run by rude anti-social sea fisherman that you will be lucky to get near the sea.
