Boscombe Pier Beach (Bournemouth)
Boscombe Beach forms part of the long stretch of flat, sandy shoreline between Sandbanks to the west and Hengistbury Head to the east. The water quality here is good and in the summer months the beach attracts plenty of visitors who come here to soak up the sun, play in the sand and waves and enjoy the many free seaside activities on offer here. There’s plenty to choose from, including volleyball, table tennis and mini-golf. A wide promenade runs alongside the beach and there are attractive beach huts available for hire, including more up-market pods for those looking for something more modern.
The restored pier offers views along the coastline and out towards the Isle of Wight. There are benches and information boards as well as an outdoor musical installation.
In 2009 an artificial reef was created here in the hope of making Boscombe a top surfing destination. Unfortunately the reef was something of a failure and the area has since been re-developed as a Coastal Activity Park.
There is a car park close to the beach although in summer this can fill up very quickly. Alternatively the beach can be accessed using the land train which runs from Bournemouth Pier.

Boscombe Pier Beach (Bournemouth) Reviews
What on earth?
Tony
Sep 02nd 2022The beach is fine.
Yesterday there was no paper in the female toilets at 3pm in the afternoon.
But why on earth is the pier closed ?
It seems that the pier is controlled by the Council and they are failing to properly operate it at all.
Such a pity!
