Redgate Beach

Redgate Beach is charming little cove close to Torquay and just around the headland from neighbouring Anstey’s Cove.

The beach is one of the prettiest in the area; clear blue water, a small strip of sand and shingle and backed by steep wooded cliffs. Sadly the beach is out of bounds and is officially closed to the public. The reason for this is that the beach is cut off from the mainland at high tide making it unsafe, and the surrounding cliffs, which are needed to access the beach, are deemed to be unstable.
