Church Norton Beach (Pagham Spit)
Six miles south of Chichester the shingle bank of Church Norton beach forms part of the Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve.
The parking nearby at St Wilfrid’s Chapel is very limited, and combined with the 1/2 mile walk down to the beach keeps visitors to a minimum. For this reason the western end of the beach is frequented by naturists.
Whilst this can be a lovely spot for a swim great care should be taken around the harbour mouth as the currents can be extremely strong as the tide moves.
The beach at Church Norton is also known for birdwatching and areas of the beach are roped off at certain times of the year when breeding birds nest here.
