Tankerton Beach
Tankerton is an old-fashioned shingle beach with wooden groynes and pretty multi-coloured beach huts. The beach is backed by a promenade and gentle grassy slopes that are perfect for children to play on.
At low tide it is possible to walk right out to sea on a natural causeway known as ‘The Street’. At this state of tide there is a fair bit of sand and a few rockpools are revealed.
There are plenty of facilities nearby such as a cafe and toilets, and even a skatepark.

May 08th 2024Much quieter than whitstable this is a beautiful beach with quaint colourful beach huts, gentle sloping grass for kids to play on. Water taps, clean public toilets, fantastic local cafe overlooking the sea. Ice cream hut and a high street with cafes, ice cream shop Bears cafe, fishing nets, Ozzies voted best fish and chip shop, local Tesco etc. British seaside at its best.
