Leysdown Beach
The traditional seaside resort of Leysdown-on-sea is situated towards the eastern end of the Isle of Sheppey on Kent’s north coast. As a well established seaside town there are all the facilities you would expect; shops, cafes, amusements and the likes.
The beach at Leysdown is a long stretch of coarse sand backed by a wide promenade and sea defences. Access is via steps and ramps which are suitable for less able visitors.
As a winner of the Blue Flag award you can be sure of clean safe bathing, but this also means there is a dog ban in force.
Leysdown is known for its nudist beach, however this is not the main beach. The popular naturist beach is situated around half a mile down the coast along Shellness Road - in fact the beach is also known as Shellness.
