Sailing Club Beach (Harwich)
This shingle beach is found to the east of Navyard Wharf and Harwich Harbour, where the rivers Orwell and Stour enter the sea. It stretches down to Beacon Hill Fort and Cornwallis Battery, one of the many historical fortifications in the Harwich area.
There are views out towards the cranes of Felixstowe Harbour and Landguard Point. It can be interesting to linger here for a while, watching the activity in the estuary.
A lifeboat museum and Harwich High Lighthouse are very close by, and pubs, restaurants and a chip shop can be found a short walk away.
Cars can be parked in Wellington Road Car Park.
