The remote rural beach of Caliso Bay is located on the very edge of County Waterford, across the river Blackwater from County Cork.

On the whole Caliso Bay, with its exotic name, is largely deserted. The most frequent visitors are local anglers, the occasional surfers and the odd naturist (the section to the right of the car park is often cited as clothing optional).

A lovely little hideaway;)
I have been a frequent visitor for about 15 years.
It has become a lot busier since the convid arrived!
A lot more respect for nature by all people would not go astray or even a couple of litter bins !
It is a great spot for fishing and camping or to just chill for a few hours .
Beware of the right hand side it’s not for the faint hearted !!

I have walked that beach for years. It is not secluded and very accessible to all. These naturists are in full view, not a pleasant experience and certainly not what people want their children to witness.

I have been to caliso a few times this year with the good weather.it has been quiet busy there on weekends with campers and walkers and naturists sharing the beach.one weekend the campers left it in a bad state.the following weekend it was just as busy but it was a lot tidier and the proceeding weekends it was left in good condition.naturist section was busy on all occasions with a mix of couples and single males and one or two familys with children.walkers were also present.to me everybody seemed to co exist quiet happily.i found the naturists to be quiet friendly and they all seemed to know each other.that section of the beach was spotless.noticed they brought all rubbish home.to me its paradise.a few bins wouldnt go astray.if swimming there be carefull of the currents.roll on next summer.

Great beach. There is a nudist part that is well screened from the main beach so doesnt cause any issues. Nice clean beach.

I only found this beach today by accident I found it fantastic. The beach is very stoney you will need beach shoes. The nudist part of the beach is well hidden and you have to know where to go to find it,for me it’s not an issue but if you venture there when in rome.the water temp is good which is helped by the seaweed.ober all this is a good beach and if you are offended by nudists DON’T GO THERE

Excrement and used toilet paper as you walk along beach headland. Wild campers everywhere ,burnt patches ,broken bottles, and beer tins strewn around. If you walk on beach to the right you come upon naked old men who stand up to show you their old naked bodies until you turn back.Bank holiday Monday June 2021 walk destroyed

This beach has been destroyed by so called wild campers. Rubbish and excrement everywhere. Dog fouling and worse. It is a pity as this was always a nice beach to walk to. The nudists don’t help either!
