Wallog Beach - Ceredigion

Descending towards Wallog

The stone structure in view in the foreground is one of the lime burning kilns that were common along the Ceredigion coast. Limestone was landed from small coastal vessels and burnt in the kilns. The lime was used to improve the acidic soils found in this part of Wales. The coastal path can be seen climbing away from the bay.
