Mumbles Head Beach (Swansea Bay) - Glamorgan

Kittiwake (4) - Mumbles Pier

Adult with two chicks. The pier is one of several places in Britain where these, the prettiest of the UK gull species, has taken to nesting on man-made structures. The future of the pier is now in doubt as there are plans to revitalise the area in the near future and it is likely to be demolished. Such a shame when one can get this close to such a beautiful creature.
