Castell Aberystwyth Castle

The castle overlooking the sea at Aberystwyth has passed from English to Welsh and back several times in its history. First built c 1110 by a Marcher lord, it was captured by Owain Gwynedd in 1136, changed hands at least 3 more times before being captured by Prince Llywelyn the Great in 1221. It was also captured by Owain Glyndwr in 1404 but fell to the English again in 1408.
