Pentle Beach and Skirt Island, Tresco, Scilly

The rocks to the left are the extremity of Skirt Island, at the south-western tip of Tresco. The beach across the centre is Pentle Beach, with the wooded area of central Tresco beyond. Pentle beach is a lovely stretch of sand. However it gets crowded in high summer. It is said that in July, there may be as many as two dozen people over the one kilometre stretch.
