Mappleton Beach Photo

Mappleton Beach - Yorkshire

Scandinavian rock, Mappleton groyne

One of the rocks imported from Scandinavia in 1991 to form a groyne to protect the village of Mappleton. See http://www.wildyorkshire.co.uk/naturediary/docs/apr00/apr09.html I have been told that the rock type looks mostly like gneiss with migmatite at the left.
