City Beach (Sunderland) - Tyne and Wear

Final C2C waymarker by Andrew Small, Roker promenade

See description here [[[2193500]]] 'Pluto' is the furthest planet from the artist's installation, 'Second Sun' situated below Wearmouth Bridge [[2194373]], and is used here to mark the official end of the Coast to Coast (C2C) and Walney to Wear (W2W) long-distance cycle routes. Roker Lighthouse stands on the end of its curving pier in the distance. Just to the left is the slipway that provides access to the beach for riders to symbolically ruin their wheels by dipping them in the North Sea.
