Cemaes Bay (Traeth Mawr)
If there is one beach I can remember from my childhood holidays in Anglesey it’s Cemaes Bay. This is the kind of beach that has everything a small (or big) child could ever want. There’s plenty of sand, and it’s the kind that’s perfect for sand castles. There are rock pools a plenty and even a promenade if you’re too grown up for rock-pooling.
What Cemaes didn’t have those many years ago was the St Patrick’s Bell. Installed in 2014 this bell on legs is set to chime on the high tide.
There are actually two beaches at Cemaes; this one, Traeth Mawr which means “big beach”, and another, Traeth Bach, just around from the harbour.
Both beaches are overlooked by the little town of Cemaes which has all the facilities you’ll need for a day at the beach.

Aug 04th 2022Lovely beach, let down by the fact that the main sandy part where kids want to play is dog friendly so is full of dogs in the summer. I love dogs and have one of my own but not nice to see dogs going to the toilet on the sand where y9ur kids want to play
Beautiful bay

Aug 19th 2021Cemaes beach is a little gem.
It has sand, rockpools, the Tide bell, and a lovely kiosk that sells delicious food and ice creams.
The kiosk also cooks fresh pizzas on some nights during the season and you can sit on the harbour wall and eat a lovely fresh pizza watching the world go by.
Cemaes village has everything you could wish for, for a short stay at the beach.
We loved every second of our time there, camping with our motorhome at the site just at the top of the hill.
Very friendly and delightful local people who are looking to help you make the most of your holiday.
A little secret gem of a place - like England 50 years ago. Go to Cemeas for a relaxing and peaceful break in glorious coastal countryside.

Feb 23rd 2021Fantastic place especially for families let the kids run free, Mums/Dads you can keep a eye on them where ever they may be on the beach. Plus they have the best fish/chip shop and the best people, welsh hospitality. ????????????
