Ness Beach

Set almost at the northern extreme of the Isle of Lewis is the pretty little Port of Ness with its picturesque harbour.
Beyond the sturdy harbour walls is a good stretch of beautiful golden sand backed by low cliffs. Given its position at the end of the line it is never busy here.
As the tide comes in the beach does tend to all but disappear - so check the tides before you plan your day.
The long and convoluted harbour is home to a small sandy beach of its own, which needless to say is perfectly sheltered, making it ideal for younger children.
The village of Ness is directly above the harbour and has most of the facilities you’d need for a day at the beach.
