Ross Back Sands (Ross Beach)

Between Bamburgh to the South and Holy Island to the North, Ross Back Sands is around three miles of unspoiled dunes and beach.
A one mile walk from the nearest car parking, explains why so few visitors make it to Ross Beach.

Seasonal ban during seabird breeding season (1st May - 30th September) Dogs are welcome on the reserve the rest of the year but must be kept on a lead or at heel at all times (even on the beaches) to avoid disturbance to our birds and grazing livestock.

Stunning beach

May 03rd 2022Beautiful stretch of white sand. Lindisfarne view to the left & Bamburgh to the right. Gannets & sanderlings visible. Hardly any people. Heavenly
Wonderful beach, great for relaxing walk, Seals and Bird life are plentiful.
Not too many people either.
