  • Set on the southern edge of Druridge Bay is Cresswell beach. The sandy beach here is one of the best on the Northumberland coast.
    The gently sloping sand is backed by extensive sand dunes and can seem to go on forever at low tide. At this state of tide there are also a few rocky patches are exposed - these offer some great rockpooling.

    The beach at Cresswell never really gets busy and is largely unspoilt. Except for the height of the summer there is a fair chance you will only see the occasional dog walker.

    Our family beach

    Our family lived near this beach since the early part of the 20th century. I played and camped there as a child and now I take my Grandchildren there. It is still as beautiful and unspoilt as ever and I hope it stays that way for my Grandchildren’s Grandchildren.

    love this place - been going annually for about 42 years- you want peace and quiet, stunning views, this is the place to be.

    A beautiful beach; perfect for families and dogs during the day, almost deserted at night and early morning. Unspoilt with no commerce or carparks visible from the beach. Really amazing views with a lovely local cafe nearby. Would be perfect for a holiday home!

    I am currently sat by the dunes at this beach, there is a beautiful wide open vista, golden sand, crashing waves, just a few walkers n dogs perfect!  Lovely ice cream n coffee shop in Cresswell to pop in too.

    A beautiful dog friendly , clean beach. One of the hottest days of the year so far and still not too busy. Great for a chilled out Sunday
