Cotswold Country Park and Beach
The Cotswold Water Park is an area of 40 square miles containing over 150 lakes. It is around one of these lakes that you will find two small beaches.
The lakes here were created around 40 years ago when the site was used for gravel extraction. Since then they have been allowed to fill with natural, crystal-clear groundwater. The beaches themselves are “artificial” being comprised of nice, soft imported sand.
Of the two beaches “Main beach” is the larger, but there is also a smaller children’s beach.
Whilst dogs are allowed in the park itself they are not allowed on the beaches or in the water. They must also be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are allowed on the pedalos and electric mini boats as well as the café.
The Cotswold Country Park provides excellent facilities including water sports such as stand up paddleboarding and kayaking. A new inflatable floating assault course has also been set up on the North Lake.
A cafe, ice-cream hut and beach shack take care of snacks whilst there are plenty of BBQ and picnic areas around the lakes.
