Mouthwell Sands is a small, family-friendly beach on the northern side of the picturesque fishing village of Hope Cove.  A stream runs down the beach that is very popular with children who will love spending the day splashing about in it with buckets and spades. The beach is sandy and it is sheltered from the wind by the steep cliffs that surround it, making it an ideal place for sunbathing and building sand castles. It is also suitable for swimming, with a lifeguard service in the summer, plus there are rock pools which can be explored during low tide.

There is parking at the top of the beach (charges apply). Mouthwell Sands is then accessed down a small slipway. Just above the beach, visitors will find plenty of choice of shops, pubs and restaurants. The village is renowned for its crab and lobster dishes.

The South West Coast Path runs past the beach which is situated in an Area of Natural Beauty. There are plenty of walks in the area, including routes to Thurlestone to the north and Bolberry Down to the south.
