Vault Beach

Vault Beach - Cornwall

A long stretch of fine shingle and sand which sites hidden to the east of Dodman Point. Although just around the corner from the popular village of Gorran Haven the beach here has a very secluded feel.
Vault beach has, however, become increasingly popular over recent years.

Given the relatively off the beaten track nature of Vault beach it is fairly well known spot with naturists. Most nude bathing takes place at the more secluded southern end of the beach.

Access isn’t particularly obvious and you can either walk around the coastpath from Gorran, which is hard work, or take the road to Lamedra. Either way the best approach is at the end nearest Gorran which avoids the scramble down the steep bracken and heather covered cliffs.

Whilst there is no lifeguard service at Vault the beach is generally quite safe with gently shelving sand and sheltered aspect.

Vault Beach Reviews

Lovely place.

My wife and I went there in the first week in July, what a lovely place it is. Not many people on the beach, there were more naturists than textiles. Once we were over halfway along the beach we started to see naturists, slightly more couples than single men. It’s not too far from the national trust car park, down a clear path to the only entrance onto the beach. No facilities, just space and natural beauty. Looking forward to going there again.
