Porthtowan is a large sandy beach, backed by imposing cliffs, in the St Agnes Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. North-west-facing and popular with surfers, Porthtowan is a short walk from neighbouring Chapel Porth (the pair join up at low tide). There is a large car park, cafes, shops, a surf shop and toilets.
