  • Long stretch of coarse sand to the south of Porthleven harbour. Shelves steeply meaning there is only a small beach at high tide.

Swimming here is not recommended at best and often extremely dangerous. The notorious Loe Bar stretch has claimed many lives over the years.

Porthleven is known as one of the best surf spots in the UK. However access is difficult and the reef is shallow and dangerous - experienced surfers only.
