  • Ardentinny Beach nestles among the trees on the western shores of Loch Long. It is a good-sized sandy beach with a beautiful backdrop and lovely views across the loch.

Given its loch-side position the water here is very clear and calm. Throw in a few picnic benches among the trees and toilets and you have the makings of a great family beach.

The car park here allows overnight parking for campervans and you can park right next to the beach.

Ardentinny Beach is fairly popular in the summer, although I wouldn’t say it gets busy.

The name of the beach comes from the pretty little village just south of the beach. There isn’t much here but there is a restaurant practically on the beach.

The beach and the local area are home to lots of wildlife. Buzzards, grey herons, common seals and even harbour porpoises are regularly spotted.
