Isle of Grain Beach
Located on the confluence of the rivers Medway and Thames, and just down the coast from the better known Allhallows beach is the Isle of Grain. Despite being less than 30 miles from the centre of London this area feels as remote as anywhere in southern England.
The beach at Grain looks out towards the mouth of the Thames and the North Sea beyond. Behind the beach are open fields criss-crossed with paths. Five minutes walk up the lane from the beach is the village of Grain where you’ll find a pub and shop.

Dec 26th 2020It is like a horror movie and I love it. That fort in the sea is really horror. I walked there with my 6yo son, got our shoes very muddy but loved it. I give it 5 stars as it reminds me of ‘Te Ring’ horror movie . My son enjoyed seeing that old broken horror fort too. Took lots of pictures…really interesting…
Tell them it’s rubbish

Jun 06th 2021This is a well kept secret outside of the immediate area. I’d love to keep it this way, we enjoy the 20 min drive to get to this little haven, with men fishing, kids playing and locals walking their dogs. Everybody so relaxed and friendly, ready for a chat. How awful!
I would mind someone selling teas/coffee etc though

May 24th 2023Visited for the first time today with our 2 cockapoos. It was a pleasure to let the dogs have a run without having to worry about them. People we met were so friendly. What is missing though is somewhere to have a tea/coffee and a toilet.
Just drive the extra 20 minutes to any other beach
Most idiots, when they want to go the beach, go to camber sands or Margate, for a reason. It’s a bog not a beach, and the only reason someone should come here is to bury a body. The pub isn’t serving food, and there is no chef in town.

May 09th 2021Scruffy village, lots of inbred people with webbed feet.
Lived there for a year, could not wait to get away. my family called it the Isle of grim, good reason too.
