Whale Chine, Chale Bay

View from the A3055 "Military Road" towards part of the 45m cliff edge. Whale Chine is one of several steep V-sided chines cut into the cliff along this stretch of south west facing coastline between St Catherine's Point and The Needles. This area between the two main chalk ridges is at lower elevation and comprises softer rocks. It is prone to rapid sea erosion.
