Sea Bindweed
Calystegia soldanella is not especially common on this northern stretch of Slapton Sands. http://www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Calystegia+soldanella comments thus on its edible uses: "Young shoots - cooked as a vegetable or pickled and used as a samphire substitute. Caution is advised since the plant might have a purgative effect." However, it would certainly be illegal to pick it here.
