Southbourne Beach (Bournemouth) - Dorset

Southbourne, shingly beach

Square SZ1490 is only visible at low tide, and today's visit was at New Moon, just before Spring Tide; so, just about the maximum land area visible: perhaps 110m width, and maximum 20m depth, with shingly beach and the ends of two groynes, nos 46 and 47. The flint shingles are probably imported during sand replenishment works; looking towards groyne no 46.
