Morecambe South Beach - Lancashire

West End beach, Morecambe

Rush hour - well, it is a February weekday afternoon. There's still some snow on the Lakeland Fells. The fish-tail groyne in the mid distance is successfully retaining the sand on the beach. This groyne is on the site of the West End Pier, demolished in 1978 after suffering storm damage in November 1977.
