Samphire Hoe Beach - Kent

Beach Hut at foot of Abbot's Cliff

Looking down upon it from the clifftop path. Situated right at the foot of the white cliffs, and cut off at high tide, this precarious beach hut was owned by a local family who preserved it from the ravages of the sea by annual work with a digger and imported rock. More recent aerial photos show that there has been considerable cliff slippage in this area but the hut is still there. For the same hut seen from sea level, see [[308042]].
