Oil Drilling Rig - Laid up in Portkil / Meikleross Bay

A drilling rig come up the Clyde for repairs? Monstrous drilling rig anchored in the lower Clyde estuary. Some years later, on 4 August 1996, a similar type of vessel, while being towed down the river, clobbered the Erskine Bridge deck causing it to be closed for several days while repairs were carried out. As for the hills in the background... Mr.Osborne has kindly provided that info below and I'm taking it on good faith that he's correct. Many thanks, Mr.O. I remember now why I was in the vicinity on that day....I was visiting the nearby Playtex factory . What a boob I made with the grid ref first time around, eh?
