Reefs on the south side of Porth Tywyn-mawr
These reefs were, and remain, a danger to shipping. In the 19thC, following a number of wreckings, a bell was sited on Creigiau Cliperau which would be rung in fog to warn shipping of the danger presented by these reefs.
