Burghead Beach - Grampian

Pillbox and Tank Traps

This whole coast was protected by tank traps during the Second World War, with pillboxes at intervals. The foundations of this one have been washed away by the sea, and it has slipped down the face of the sand dunes. Edit: There hasn't been much change in the seven years since this was taken, though there is a little less sand now. See Walter Baxter's [[[4171179]]], taken in 2014.
