Balmedie Country Park Beach - Grampian

Drumside links: World War 2 Pillbox interior

The interior of a pillbox built during WWII to help defend the beaches during the anticipated invasion by Nazi Germany. The windows would originally have been fitted with steel shutters for protection against incoming fire. The pillboxes in this area are usually choked with wind-blown sand but this one is lying at a steep angle (see [[745484]]) and all the sand has fallen out of the door!
